Antarctic  continent :-


- The Antarctic continent is the fifth largest continent in the world.
- It is located in the southern hemisphere.
- This gives scientists unique opportunities to give more information about the Earth.
- That is why it is called a continent dedicated to science.
- The South Pole is located almost at the center of this continent.
- The land of the Antarctic is surrounded by three oceans - the Indian Ocean, the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean.
- The southern end of these oceans is called the Southern Ocean or Antarctic Ocean.
- The Weddell Sea and the Ross Sea are part of the Antarctic Ocean.
- Its temperature is less than 4°C.
- The first attempt to discover this continent was made by the British sailor James Cook, but he could not reach its mainland.
- The credit for discovering the mainland of this continent goes to Fabian Welling Schossen who in 1820 AD.
- I boarded a ship named Bostock and reached its mainland.
- 98% of the Antarctic is always covered with snow.
- It is also called white continent due to being completely snowed.
- The first person to reach the South Pole was Norwegian resident Amundsson (1911 AD).

- After the Uttarayan of the Sun, there is a night in the Antarctic for six months, while after the Dakshinayana of the Sun, it stays here for six months.
- Lichen and moss are the main flora of the Antarctic.

- Dr.  Giriraj Sirohi (Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh) was the first Indian to reach the South Pole.  - India launched its Antarctic expedition 1981 - 82 AD.
- Started in  India's first Antarctic expedition team, Dr.  January 9, 1982, under the leadership of Saeed Zahra Qasim.
- Began on  India established its first research center in the Antarctic, Southern Gangotri 1983 AD.
- Installed in, which is now destroyed.
- 1989 AD  The second Indian research center Maitri was established in  India established
