Olympic Games :-


- The ancient Olympic Games began in the city of Olympia in Greece in 776 BC.

- For the first time the game was played in honor of the Greek god Zeus.

- These games were played once in four years from then until 394 AD, then due to the orders of King Theodosius of Rome, these games were stopped.

- The modern Olympic Games competition began in 1896, in the city of Athens, Greece, with the efforts of Baron Pierre de Cobartin of France.

- It is also organized at intervals of every four years.

- The International Olympic Committee was established in 1894 at a place called Sakhon.

- It is headquartered in Losane (Switzerland).

- The International Olympic Committee is the organization governing the Olympic Games.

- This committee has an executive committee, consisting of a chairman, three vice presidents and seven other members.

- This institution determines the location, rules, operation, etc. of the Olympic Games.

- The Olympic Council of India was established in 1924 and Sir JJ Tata was its first 'President'.

  - The Olympic flag was created in 1913 on the suggestion of Baron Pierre de Cobertin.

  - It was duly inaugurated in Paris in June 1914 and the flag was first hoisted at the Antwerp Olympics in 1920 AD.

  - The background of the flag is white.

  - In the center of the flag made of silk, five colored circles are shown as an Olympic symbol, which represent the five continents of the world, as well as a fair and free competition.

  - Blue Chakra - Europe, Yellow Chakra - Asia, Black Chakra Africa, Green Chakra - Australia and Red Chakra - U. and D. America.

- Purpose Of Olympic  :-


 - Citius, Altius , Fortius composed by Father Didon in 1897, are Olympic objectives in Latin which means sharp, high and strong.

 - It was first presented at the Antwerp (Belgium) Olympic Games in 1920 as an Olympic objective.

- Olympic Torch  :-


 - The burning of it began with the Amsterdam Olympics in 1928.

 - The current form of the torch was adopted at the Berlin Olympic Games in 1936.

 - From this time, the practice of bringing the Olympic torch to the venue started.

 - The torch is lit by the rays of the sun in front of the Hera Temple in Olympia, Greece, a few days before the start of the game and is brought by various players from there to the venue.

 - With this torch, the torch of a particular sporting event is lit.

- Olympic Medal  :-


 - Three types of medals are awarded to the winners in the Olympic Games - Gold, Silver and Bronze.
